8 years

8 years ago we were still coming to grips with the fact that we were parents for the first time. Our Maeve was born on the 18th of August 2002 weighing in at 9lb 6oz (4.25kg)...She was a "Honeymoon baby". Born 9 months and 1 day after our wedding day!
She wasn't the easiest baby, or maybe I wasn't the most natural mother, but we muddled along and got through it.
Now she is the most wonderful young girl who amazes me daily...by being so good and kind.

Amongst her favourite gifts were a Knitting Dolly (knitting in her jammies, of course!) and an Usborne Doodling book...(or maybe they're my favourites!)

And of course Nigella's cake got an outing....again! (it wasn't so good this time...a tad heavy...don't know why....but the chocolate icing/sauce makes up for it!)

yummm...that cake looks good! she looks like a real little pet, gorgeous curls too - I'm jealous! If you are an Usborne fan, and you're on facebook, look up 'Winter Tree Books - Usborne', as I am going to be doing a few giveaways coming up to Xmas !

Happy Birthday Maeve! Hope you had a great day.
Millie: on that photo with the pink coat she looks so much like your little twins, I think!

Thanks Mise, She knitted herself a bracelet today! It wasn't planned as a bracelet...but that's what it is now! She's smiling even more at that!

Thanks Amanda, very nice of you to say so... (and aren't they all ouch...no matter what size and how they get out!)

Winter Tree..she is a pet...really. And the curls...swimming lessons are making it extra curly this last week. It is so thick too. Hard to tame at the moment!
I checked you out on Facebook...she actually got the Optical Illusions cards and the Brain Games card too, for her Birthday....we could probably sell Usborne books! They're everywhere in the house! Doesn't stop us buying more!

Thanks Nicole...we had a nice day, although a bit ordinary for her...maybe ... hopefully we'll go to the cinema at the weekend to help make up...
As for the girls looking like Maeve, they are very like her at that age....one of them is even a chatterbox like she was!

Thank you Heather...hard to believe she's 8!... and believe me, it was a huge shock to me too! We thought we'd be waiting a couple of years for a baby!
