Both these ladies are extemely inventive and last year Rae hosted Spring Top Week which I took part in. You sometimes need motivation to do the things you've been putting off for a while. I am very much looking foward to seeing the projects they come up with.
' The Boy' I'll be making for......(He looks so different without his glasses)
He brought a book over to me last evening and read several words. He then amazingly proceeded to read all the book, granted it only had two sentences on each page! But up until this he has been learning phonics in his first year in school- he's 5. (6 in June). He figured it out by himself though, or maybe it's Osmosis? Every evening we read to them and there are books everywhere in the house. This is my favourite at the moment. Highly recommended to anyone who has kids around 6 or 7 and doesn't mind explaining what a few rude words mean!
He is such a great boy, he deserves a few things just for him.
Have a great weekend, whatever you get up.

hi millie! nice to find an irish blog full of crafty info and lovely pics of fabric - mmmm :) I found saints and pinners great, so helpful, wish I could afford to go mad and buy loads from them. Not sewing much at the moment due to bad back but always have room for buying fabric goodies !!
Thanks Winter Tree, I was delighted to find your blog too.I think I went a bit mad buying fabric in January! I'll have to hold off on buying more for a while, but I loved all the fabric that Saints and Pinners had. Fabric definitly is addictive!
Hi Millie, I'm excited to see what you're going to make for your boy. What a great idea from Rea. If I didn't had signed up for a swap I would have joined myself. I really think people have a wrong perception of sewing for boys, it can be so much fun.
Love the pants you made, they look so professional!
Thanks for visiting my blog and commenting, I really appreciate it.
Hi Millie - I love the project as well, although, alas - I don't have any boys to sew for. So I'm out this year. I'm looking forward to seeing what you will make! :)
Ria- Thank you, I think our boys are quite similar in size, age etc. I love sewing for him, but often the patterns for boys are more complicated, where as with girls, you can whip up an elastic waist skirt or a tunic and it'll look nice. But I love to make something him something that reflects his personality. Nice of you to call by, and comment, too.
Astrid- I'm sorry you won't be involved in 'Celebrating The Boy'...but I think I'll have my own personal Spring Top Week, I think I need a few new tops! Nothing can compare to yours last year though!
He sure deserves something just for him, the tall boy!
There will be a lot to make for the boys and I'm so happy that there are some creative ladies who will inspire me to sew for my little man as well!
Nina, you've inspired me to make Cinnamon buns! They're proving right now! Thanks, I think!?
