Happy Easter

Happy Easter to you all. I hope everyone has a good weekend, whatever you get up to.

Obviously we survived our trip to visit our family in England. It was a busy few days and we all enjoyed it. I worked out that we travelled 30 hours over four days, with one day of rest in the middle. Eight of the travelling hours were on a ferry, the rest were driving. All the children travelled really well, and were so patient.

I managed fine without Colm, and didn't miss him too much, but what I didn't expect is that the older two children missed him terrribly. Maeve especially found it unfair to be away while he was home alone. I am glad I did it, but as soon as I got home I started thinking about our family holiday this summer. The one where we'll all be together! We're hoping to go to Scotland camping for a few days.

By the way there were two boxes of fabulous fabrics waiting for me when I arrived with my Sister. All I need is a bit of motivation to finish a few other projects and I start into them.

Lucky you - two boxes of fabric! It's good to hear you got home alright, and that you didn't miss Colm too much (though I love the fact that you two really miss each other). Your Easter decoration is beautiful - and I can't wait to see what you will sew next! :)

Astrid...The two boxes of fabric are mainly winter fabrics and lots of knits, which are nearly impossible to get around here.
As for Colm and I missing each other, we seldom need to be apart for work or anything, so it is an unusual situation for us. When I saw him first, when I got back, I thought he was the handsomest man I'd seen for a long time...so tanned and healthy looking!
We've now gone back to our old ways of taking each other for granted though!

Yay for boxes of fabric! That's so sweet that your kids missed their daddy! Glad you had a good time and wish you could pack me away with your things when you go to Scotland! That's one of the places I'd love to visit before I die!

I know Heather...I'm trying to match your stash!!
It was sweet that they missed them, but not so sweet that they wouldn't sleep at night because of it!
As for Scotland..We are very much looking forward to it...We have never been, I think I was there as a baby, but that doesn't count! We will be camping though, so if you came with us, you'd be roughing it!

Hi Millie, I'd love to come to Scotland too, that's where my ancestors are from. It seems to me you are quite well travelled, it's neat that you noticed I'm from Mot, it's a long way from Ireland. I've done my stint at apple picking too it's hard work isn't it? The season is in full swing here, great apple picking weather, cool mornings and hot afternoons. Lots of interesting looking people in the supermarkets and an assortment of accents if I listen carefully.

I travelled a lot in my younger years, but work and family have slowed me up...for now! Apple picking is hard work, for sure. You're bringing back memories for me, especially the weather. I also remember the supermarket...I was so broke, it was hard to even afford food when I arrived first! I suppose I learned lots there, especially about living on a budget! I had a sister in Auckland at that time, she has since moved closer to home.
